We are pleased to announce that MPH has achieved Constructionline Gold level. Constructionline is widely recognised within the industry and is a leading provider of procurement and supply chain management services. Constructionline removes duplication from the PQQ process while simplifying the supply chain management and providing a dynamic data verification for buyers by managing compliance to PAS 91.
The Gold membership increased the level of scrutiny and risk
management by extending the mandatory PQQ and including a mandatory Health and
Safety Accreditation. The enhanced PQQ question set now includes verification
of Environmental Management, Quality Management, Equalities and Diversity, and
extended Health and Safety. It ensures buyers keep up with legislation in areas
such as Modern Slavery, Anti-Bribery and Corruption, and Equal Opportunities,
giving peace of mind across all these areas of governance.
We are delighted that that all of the processes we currently have in place have enabled us to achieve the Gold Level.
As a Silver Construction Line member Modern Plant completed the Acclaim accreditation process. Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP) is an umbrella body for assessing schemes of which Acclaim approved. MPH chose Acclaim because it was an extension of Construction Line and its strap line – Simple, Credible and Transparent.
Modern Plant had many of the systems already in place and only had to pull them together and present for the Accreditation process to be verified.
Mick Tarrant the Modern Plant MD commented, “…we have always invested in our process and people and it comes as no surprise the accreditation processed so smoothly. I would personally like to thank the team that worked on this task for their diligence and efficiency”
Modern Plant has a tradition of supporting local sports team and this has continued with support for the Barker Butts U15 girls rugby team. On 5th May the team traveled to Worcester Warriors Sixways stadium to compete and in the final of the RFU regional competition. The girls played Welwyn and ran out winners in a great match 20-12. Congratulation to all those involved.
Modern Plant recently passed it’s annual Fors Silver Audit. Mick Tarrant, MD, commented “…we are delighted to have received the recognition of our high standards. I would like to thank Vicky and the team of fleet drivers for all their hard work.”
Modern Plant while working on a prestige site in Cambridge encountered a quality issue. It was necessary to lay granite kerbs (approx 40kg each) with a 5mm gap with a desire to have minimal tolerance. The team combined and designed a spacer which was printed using a digital printer.
Modern Plant is delighted to have supported Rob Jones in achieving his NEBOSH Health and Safety qualification. Rob recently passed his NEBOSH exams after completing off site and onsite training. Rob has progress through various roles at MPH. Rob has also been promoted to Health and Safety Manager. Modern Plant has a tradition of employee support and training ensuring it’s workforce is well qualified to perform in the construction industry.

MPH has been working closely with Road Skills, David Somers and his team who have guided us to achieve and maintain our FORS Bronze Accreditation and more recently to achieve the FORS Silver Accreditation. In achieving this we have introduced many systems to ensure we are monitoring all areas with regards to vehicles and employees and continue to improve our working practice.
Last week we had a visit from a Traffic Examiner to carry out an Operators Report and review regarding our Operators Licence. We are very pleased to announce that we achieved a Satisfactory Report which is the highest level possible. We scored very highly during the meeting and feel this was down to the systems in place for the FOR Silver accreditation and the help of David and his team at Road Skills.
